Mary Katherine Kilgore is in her 7th season as Artistic Director of the Eastern Shore Choral Society. She is a native of Forsyth, Georgia and received her Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from Valdosta State University. Her post graduate studies in voice, opera and choral conducting were at Clayton College and State University in Morrow, GA and at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Mary Katherine is a talented and accomplished conductor and musician. She has been a member of several choral groups in Georgia and Alabama, including the Mobile Opera Chorus. She taught piano and voice privately for over 20 years and has been selected to judge numerous piano, vocal and choral competitions. Mary Katherine currently serves on the Board of the Alabama Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association. She serves full time as Director of Music at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope. Mary Katherine has two step children, Jonathan and Holly, and has lived in Fairhope with her husband Rodney and daughter Emily since 2005.
ESCS’s gifted Accompanist, Joe Rambo, is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. While living there, he received his BA in Chemistry, with minors in Biology and Church Music, from Huntingdon College, where he also met his wife Elisa. From there, they both attended graduate school at Indiana University, where Joe received a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry. Following a year of post-doctoral studies in Paris, Elisa and Joe moved to Fairhope where they have lived since 1994. After working for many years in education, both as a teacher and administrator, Joe returned to the classroom to pursue a degree in pharmacy. Graduating in May 2016, Joe currently works as a pharmacist at Mobile Infirmary. Musically, Joe serves as Organist for Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope.
Annie grew up on the Gulf Coast and moved back to the area three years ago with her husband and two sons. She spent 17 years in the NYC metro area, first as a professional development specialist and then as an interior designer. She worked with two architectural firms and also taught interior design as an Adjunct Professor at the Michael Graves College of Kean University in Union, NJ. She has a BS in Business Communications with a Minor in Piano Performance from Florida State University and a BFA in Interior Design from Kean University. Today she is a designer by trade and a musician by hobby, serving on her church worship team at Calvary Chapel of Fairhope. She is excited to serve as the new Executive Director of ESCS to promote greater appreciation and enjoyment of quality vocal music in and around Baldwin County.
